Artist's Description
Gardur, which means garden or yard, was named after one of the many earthen walls once erected on the boundaries between local properties.
Gardur is a municipality and town located in southwestern Iceland, bordered by the Faxafloi Bay on the Southern Peninsula.
Its location provides magnificent sea views and two picturesque lighthouses - towers designed o emit light from a system of lamps and lenses and to serve as a navigational aid for maritime pilots at sea or on inland waterways.
